New Document Guidelines and Recording Fee increase for the state of Ohio to take effect on July 1, 2009.

Recording Fees will increase by $2.00. The fee for the first page of all documents, except plats of survey, will be $9.00. Each additional page will be $5.00. The fee for a plat of survey will remain at $7.00 for the first page and $5.00 for each additional page.

Guidelines for documents are changed under a new bill. HB 525 is the new standardization act pertaining to documents filed with Ohio county recorders. HB 525 creates a revised section 317.114. Guidelines are as follows:

Computer font of at least ten point
Minimum paper size 81/2 x 11
Max size 8 1/2 x 14
Black or Blue ink only
Margins of 1 inch on each side of the page and on bottom
3 inch margin on the top of the first page (reserved for recorder, auditor, and engineer)
1 1/2 margin on the top of each of the remaining pages
No highlighting
